fresh start

I realize that I haven't posted anything for over a year now, and that my blog has been seriously neglected and abandoned. I don't think anyone checks my blog anymore, but that is okay. My cute friend told me that she'd make my blog have a cute background, and changed the layout a little bit and told me that maybe that would help me start blogging again. So I finally decided to take a look at my blog, and realized that I loved reading it, and that I should start blogging again, not for anybody else, but for me. So here it goes... I'm blogging again- for me.

A few Highlights of the past year that I would have blogged about, if I was blogging:
--We bought our first house and moved in. Had fun painting, a little remodeling, and decorating and making it a home. We still haven't decorated James and my room. When we moved in, I told myself that it would be the first room to be done... it's on our to do list this month. I need to take pictures of the kids rooms and post them, because I think they're pretty cute.
--Our ward was able to get some great produce at awesome prices, so James and I had fun learning how to can this summer. We canned applesauce, tomato soup, peaches, and plum jelly. Yum!
--I was pregnant. 1st trimester- sick and not fun, I did not cook anything. 2nd trimester- much better, I cooked a little more. 3rd trimester-major heartburn, I cooked bland things.
--We went to Hawaii, without the kids. It was nice, but I totally missed the kids!
--James was asked to be an Army Medical Recruiter, so he will go to a leadership course, and then to Recruiter school from April to August. We'll find out where we will move in June and then he has to report to his new station in September. So we thought we were settling here, but now we're moving again! Home is where the Army sends ya!
--I turned 30, and had an awesome birthday! James, my mom, and Heather were so nice!
--And best of all, we had a gorgeous little baby girl, Maci Jo Larsen-- January 29, 2010.

On to the recent stuff.....

We blessed Maci last week. It was so awesome to have family and friends come for the blessing. I missed that with Kedric's blessing in Germany. I love to be so close to family. Being able to see them every week has been such a blessing. My grandma and grandpa even flew up from Utah. It's always great to see them. They are such great examples to me. Some of James' family came up too. I was sad that Ceann couldn't come. She hasn't traveled anywhere for a while. We need to go visit her sometime soon, so that she can meet Maci.

I love having a new baby. Maci is so beautiful and just a true joy. She's a really good baby and only gets fussy in the evenings, but if we just lay her on the ground and turn on the TV, she's good! :) Kedric and Reilyn have loved having Maci too. Reilyn gets mad because she has to go to school and doesn't get to see her as much as we do. She started crying the other night because Maci was looking at Kedric and not her. Kedric is really careful with her and loves to be in charge of her binky. He makes sure her binky is in her car seat before we leave anywhere-- I think because if she starts crying in the car, he gets to help her calm down. :)

Well, here we go blog world. Lets see if I can keep it up! :)

LOVE your new background (I want the wallpaper in real life for Maizyn's room )
and loved this new post! Finally. :) There are some really cute pictures in there. Maci is too cute! I love her!

I'm glad your back on the blogging wagon. I need to join you - also for your reasons, because it's like a journal and its fun to reflect back on life. I read some of the Glausers Seven blog a few months ago and laughed. It was cute.
